Senior Design Technologist

Remote - US

Reimagine the infrastructure of cancer care within a community that values integrity, inspires growth, and is uniquely positioned to create a more modern, connected oncology ecosystem.

We’re looking for a Senior Design Technologist to help us accomplish our mission to improve and extend lives by learning from the experience of every person with cancer. Are you ready to be the next changemaker in cancer care?

What You'll Do

You’ll be joining our Design Systems team and will have the opportunity to help define how Flatiron products and tools should work. You will help level up the way designers and engineers work together and help evolve our Design System as a core part of our software toolkit. Your work will enable teams to create high-quality user-facing applications that focus on usability, consistency, and accessibility. You will work with teams across the organization to help define front-end best practices for scalable and reliable code that touches the lives of millions of cancer patients. In addition, you’ll also:

  • Shape the holistic vision of user interfaces across Flatiron products, focusing on consistency, scalability, and flexibility.
  • Design and test modular, accessible UI components and patterns that reflect the Flatiron brand and solve diverse user needs.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with designers and engineers to develop high-quality front-end code and maintain shared libraries and tools.
  • Promote best practices through documentation, process improvements, and ongoing communication around the Design System.

Who You Are

You are a hybrid front-end developer and product designer that enjoys working in both Figma and Code.

  • You have a portfolio or examples of past work, bonus if you can include code samples or projects in git.
  • You have 3+ years of experience working as a hybrid product designer and front-end developer.
  • You are comfortable context-switching between different problems.
  • You bring a systems approach to everything you do.
  • You have strong expertise in modern coding technology (React, Typescript, HTML/CSS).
  • You are comfortable working in Figma and designing UI.
  • You’re detail oriented and have an eye for consistency.

Extra credit

  • You have experience contributing to design systems and component libraries.
  • You’re familiar with accessibility standards (WCAG).
  • You have experience building products in healthcare.

Where you’ll work

In this remote position, you have the freedom to choose your preferred work location while aligning your working hours with your team's. For further details on our hybrid work approach and remote work type, please visit the how we work website.
