In this role, you will function as the Process Excellence local point of contact to support local Continuous Improvement initiatives, partnering with local teams and consult with the global Process Excellence team to guarantee methods consistency, prioritization and leverage the Process Excellence team bandwidth.

This position is a Leadership role, with people management responsibilities, and will include interactions with all levels of internal staff, other business unit Process Excellence leads, and functional leaders, and clients.

This position will be remotely based in either the United States or the United Kingdom. Travel may be necessary for up to 15%.

In more details, you will…

  • Drive the global process excellence agenda aligned with strategy and business goals.
  • Function as the leadership point of contact working across multiple sites globally to ensure consistency of message and practices across the service line.
  • Collaborate with departmental leaders to facilitate setting priorities, developing goals, and designing objectives related to process excellence initiatives.
  • Identify high-impact areas for transformation and prioritize initiatives based on ROI, risk, and business needs.
  • Serve as an advisor to leadership on operational efficiency and transformation strategies.
  • Lead large-scale, complex process improvement initiatives across multiple business units or geographies.
  • Use advanced methodologies (Lean Six Sigma, DMAIC, Agile, etc.) to redesign processes for maximum efficiency and quality.
  • Partner with teams across the organization according to identified and prioritized opportunities to improve customer satisfaction, enhance productivity, drive growth, further employee engagement and performance.
  • Champion the use of automation, digital tools, and analytics in process optimization.
  • Manage a portfolio of improvement projects, ensuring alignment across departments and functions.
  • Oversee project governance, resource planning, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
  • Report progress, escalations, and success metrics to senior leadership and steering committees.
  • Support change management efforts to ensure successful adoption of new processes.
  • Build executive-level alignment and engagement for process excellence initiatives.
  • Guide business units through cultural and behavioral shifts toward continuous improvement.
  • Define and track KPIs to measure process effectiveness, cost savings, and customer impact.
  • Drive performance benchmarking and develop dashboards for executive visibility.
  • Conduct deep-dive analyses and use insights to refine strategies and prioritize investments.
  • Build organizational capabilities in Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Mentor and coach improvement teams, leaders, and process owners.
  • Drive and support the process excellence framework, governance models, and standardized methodologies across the organization.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in operational excellence.
  • Drive innovation in process design, including use of AI, RPA, and advanced analytics.
  • Promote a continuous improvement mindset throughout the organization.
  • Perform and manage complex analysis to determine process improvement opportunities, evaluate alternatives, and prioritize redesigning efforts.

What we are looking for

The Senior Manager, Process Excellence will be most successful at Labcorp with:

  • Bachelor of Science/Arts (BS/BA) degree required. Relevant experience may be substituted for education.
  • 3-5 years' of Process Excellence experience as a certified Black Belt or equivalent job experience
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a technical process excellence or related role
  • Progressive experience in process improvement, operational excellence, business transformation, or related areas with a customer-centric focus
  • Strong background in Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or similar methodologies.
  • Experience leading projects with measurable business outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage stakeholders at all levels (including executives), and drive consensus across business units.
  • Experience influencing without direct authority.
  • Proven success in leading change management efforts, including training, communication, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Exposure to RPA, AI, or process mining tools is increasingly valued.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines in a rapidly changing environment
  • Requires influential leadership and assertiveness to interact with colleagues at all levels of the organization across the business
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build relationships, collaborate and partner across departments, globally
  • Experience in Change Management
  • Excellent collaborator and team builder
  • Knowledge of Clinical Drug Development and laboratory operations (desired).

  • Quantitative reasoning (demonstrated competence with math concepts and statistical tools; ability to understand and draw conclusions from facts and data).
  • Ability to perform intermediate computer skills (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Minitab, etc.)
  • Ability to train people in Problem Solving, Project Management basics and Lean basics
  • Strong leadership skills as demonstrated by:
    • Ability to apply innovation and exploration of non-traditional ideas in solving problems
    • Well respected within the organization
    • Ability to use personal energy and cheerful outlook to influence
    • Ability to prioritize work and adaptability to changing work demands
    • Ability to maintain composure under pressure
    • Ability to negotiate issues and suggestions.

Pay Range: $110,000 - $140,000

This position is also eligible for an annual bonus under the Labcorp Bonus Plan. Bonuses are payable based on corporate and/or business segment performance and are subject to individual performance modifiers.
