Job Summary
The Executive Director of Strategy & Transformation plays a key leadership role within Labcorp’s AI Division, guiding the strategic direction and driving enterprise-wide transformation through the adoption of AI and machine learning technologies. This role connects innovation with impact—aligning AI-driven solutions to Labcorp’s broader mission in clinical research, diagnostics, and healthcare delivery.
The Executive Director will design strategic roadmaps, scale governance frameworks, and lead multidisciplinary teams to embed AI into the organization’s core operations. This is both a visionary and execution-focused role—helping Labcorp stay at the forefront of responsible, human-centered innovation.

Key Responsibilities
Enterprise AI Strategy & Leadership
Define and execute a comprehensive AI/ML strategy that aligns with Labcorp’s enterprise goals.
Position AI as a key enabler of transformation across research, diagnostics, and healthcare operations.
Serve as a senior advisor to C-level executives, guiding AI-related investments, opportunities, and risk management.
Transformation & Operations
Identify and lead high-impact transformation programs that integrate AI/ML into core business processes.
Drive operational efficiency and manage the financial and human capital needs of the AI Division.
Collaborate with the SVP, Chief AI Officer to support departmental operations and strategic execution.
Innovation & Design Thinking
Foster a creative and experimental culture that encourages bold ideas and rapid prototyping.
Promote user-first design in AI/ML solutions, ensuring usability and adoption.
Lead the team responsible for AI product education, training, and adoption across Labcorp.
Governance & Ethical AI
Establish and scale governance frameworks to ensure transparent, ethical, and compliant AI practices.
Align AI adoption with healthcare regulations and privacy standards such as FDA, HIPAA, and GDPR.
Develop and measure frameworks for evaluating the value and outcomes of AI-driven initiatives.
Partnerships & Ecosystems
Build and manage partnerships with universities, startups, and technology providers to advance AI capabilities.
Oversee vendor ecosystems and identify emerging technologies with strategic potential.
Organizational Leadership
Build, mentor, and retain a world-class strategy and transformation team.
Cultivate AI fluency and a learning mindset across the organization.
Create and share best practices, toolkits, and maturity models for scaling AI initiatives globally.
Market Engagement & Evangelism
Represent Labcorp’s AI vision at conferences, industry events, and in publications.
Advocate for responsible innovation and human-centered technology within and beyond the company.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
15+ years of experience in technology strategy, digital transformation, or innovation leadership.
At least 7 years of senior leadership experience within AI/ML-driven environments, ideally in healthcare, clinical research, or life sciences.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree (MBA, MS in Data Science, AI, UX, or Healthcare Innovation).
Experience working within a CRO, healthcare provider, or diagnostics organization.
Skills & Competencies
Proven success leading enterprise strategy and transformation programs.
Strong experience scaling AI/ML operations, governance, and product ecosystems.
Ability to manage large vendor and partner networks.
Executive presence and strong communication skills, including storytelling and change leadership.
Familiarity with regulatory frameworks for healthcare AI (FDA, HIPAA, GDPR).
Hands-on experience with AI platforms, digital product development, or innovation labs.
Relevant certifications in AI Ethics, Digital Transformation, Agile, or Design Thinking.
Proficiency with advanced computing and analytics platforms
Working Conditions
Hybrid and flexible work options are available, with preference for candidates located near Labcorp’s engineering, innovation, or research hubs.

Pay Range: $200-300k
All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
The position is also eligible for an annual bonus under the Labcorp Bonus Plan. Bonuses are payable based on corporate and/or business segment performance and are subject to individual performance modifiers. Compensation may also include discretionary short- and long-term incentive packages.
