Labcorp is seeking a Remote Clinical Laboratory Supervisor to join our Cytogenetics team that analyzes cases for prenatal, blood chromosomes, and tissues. Work schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm

Travel notice: This position is remote with the possibility of work travel up to 7 times a year. Candidate can be located anywhere in the US. Must meet Work from Home requirements listed below.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supervise the day to day operations of the remote Cytogenetics team for prenatal, blood chromosomes, and tissues

  • Directly supervise, train, and mentor laboratory personnel of the department

  • Monitor daily workflow and schedule adequate assay coverage

  • Responsible for ensuring all shifts in the department are properly staffed

  • Research and resolve any production errors while escalating when necessary

  • Engage in continuous process and service level improvements

  • Prepare and maintain Quality Assurance records and documents

  • Evaluate new process improvements and make appropriate recommendations

  • Meet regularly with direct reports to provide coaching and feedback for their development

  • Perform bench work as needed and maintain proficiency/competency in technical operations

  • Ensure all work is in accordance with state and Federal regulations

  • Responsible for administering and managing policies and procedures

  • Perform administrative duties as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or degree that meets local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of experience as a Technologist; 7 years preferred

  • Cytogenetics analysis experience is required

  • Previous supervisor/leadership experience is highly preferred

  • Knowledge of ASI system is preferred

  • ASCP or AMT certification is preferred

  • Strong working knowledge of CLIA, CAP and relevant state regulations

  • Understanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures

  • Proficient with Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft Office

  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal

  • High level of attention to detail with strong organizational skills

  • Comfortability making decisions in a changing environment

  • Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position

Work From Home Requirements:

  • The candidate must have a home office space that is a dedicated room, not shared with other people, and meets HIPAA compliance.

  • Wired or wireless internet at a minimum speed of 100 mb/sec is required.

  • The candidate must have the ability to work remotely effectively as required in a fast-paced, multi-site environment with a demonstrated ability to juggle competing priorities and demands
