Labcorp is seeking a Lead Programmer to join our team in Burlington or Durham, NC
Work Schedule:
This is a full‑time, exempt (salaried) position assigned to a First Shift schedule, with standard business hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in your time zone. Business needs may occasionally require flexibility in work hours, including earlier, later, or additional hours, with reasonable notice provided when possible.
Main Responsibilities:
Works with Labcorp’s Population Health Informatics team to develop new population analytics tools that leverage LabCorp data to improve patient care. Includes primary responsibility in developing Insight Analytics product offering.
Provides opportunity to participate in the full development cycle from product conceptualization, prototyping, interface design, and release to production. Requires the ability to work with LabCorp customers and internal stakeholders to define requirements and incorporate feedback for application improvement.
Documents business cases and user requirements for new and existing systems. Prepare specifications from which computer programs will be written. Validates functionality.
Trains new users (LabCorp customers, internal stakeholders).
Optimize ETL processes for underlying datasets supporting new population health dashboards using SAP HANA, Alteryx, and Python.
Design, develop, and maintain scalable data integration solutions across internal and external sources, including TEFCA program data and in-house hospital testing systems.
Provide analytical support for sales initiatives, including revenue analysis, roster matching, and development of custom client reports.
Leverage public datasets (e.g., Census.gov, NHGIS GIS files, Neighborhood Atlas) to enhance analytical insights.
Build and maintain data pipelines and deliver analytics solutions using visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI, supported by platforms like SAP HANA, Datamart, and Big Data environments, along with tools like Alteryx.
Automate and maintain reporting processes to deliver tailored client outputs aligned with value-based care (VBC) goals.
Develop customized benchmarking reports combining internal lab data with external social determinants such as Area Deprivation Index (ADI).
Streamline Antibiogram and organism reporting processes using SAP HANA, enable automated email distribution via Alteryx, and drive 500+ Tableau report generation through Python integration.
Develop Excel-based versions of Tableau dashboards using Power BI add-ins to replicate core functionality.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
7 or more years’ experience in multiple phases of application development - database, programming, data visualization, user interface development.
5 or more years’ experience in data visualization - Tableau and Power BI.
5 or more years of Database experience – SQL
Preferred Qualifications:
5 or more years of experience with Alteryx
5 or more years of experience with SQL and SAP HANA
Additional Job Standards:

Knowledge of basic statistics.
Practical Experience driving projects to completion in a multi-stakeholder environment.
Population health and diagnostics experience a plus.
