Summary

As Director of Engineering, you will be reporting directly to the CEO and COO at Pathos Ethos. Additionally, you will partner with the rest of the leadership team to develop and execute on strategies that drive the engineering responsibilities of product delivery.

Job Description

We are looking for a full-time Director of Engineering who will thrive at solving problems for partner innovators.

This role requires quick (but thorough) strategic decision making to provide optimal pathways for early stage products, strong communication skills for guiding partner innovators, and great mentoring for junior developers.

Because of the high variation and intensity level of this work (you will never be bored), we have broken down traditional skill requirements into the loose groupings of experience levels. We believe a matching candidate would have:

Fluency in

• Leading combined teams of engineers to achieve large product goals
• Building enterprise level web applications using Ruby on Rails (and/or comparable web application technology)
• Deploying enterprise level applications to live production environments
• Designing data models from scratch
• Leading product user story mapping, wireframing, and interface design exercises
• Drafting work estimations (macro and micro)

Experience in

• Understanding business problems to offer multiple solutions
• Building native mobile applications using Swift and Kotlin
• Working under Scrum or Kanban methodologies
• Recruiting and interviewing potential engineers

Familiarity in

• Knowing how Wordpress works
