Summary
As the Lead Epidemiologist, you will collaborate with leading scientists, methodologists, and software engineers to visualize, analyze, and disseminate real-world health data using modern epidemiologic methods and sound scientific principles. You will contribute to the group’s ongoing efforts to build a novel repository of rigorously developed informative, interactive real-world studies that can be adapted to new datasets and populations.
What You'll Do
- Manage cross-functional technical teams to plan and execute research projects using state of the science epidemiologic methods, ensuring scientific integrity throughout the study lifecycle while meeting business needs.
- Plan epidemiologic resource allocation to accomplish multiple research projects, meet deliverable schedules, and stay within project budgets.
- Identify innovative, timely, and cost-effective approaches to conduct epidemiologic studies and support the productization of research products.
- Develop and negotiate research plans with internal stakeholders, as well as current and potential clients.
- Keep abreast of epidemiological developments within academia and from regulatory agencies, health policy providers, reimbursement authorities, and key opinion leaders.
- Play a central role in promoting Target RWE as a thought leader in epidemiology by disseminating study findings via study reports, presentations to internal and external stakeholders, peer-reviewed publications, and presentations at professional society meetings.
- Serve as a mentor for other epidemiologists on the team.
- Conduct complex, important work under minimal supervision and with wide latitude for independent judgment.

Education and Experience
Doctoral degree in epidemiology or related quantitative field; postdoctoral training a plus. 10+ years of experience conducting independent epidemiologic research studies. Previous experience in client-facing roles. Experience leading research projects from conception to publication.
The position requires expertise within the field of pharmacoepidemiology, with a published track record, and ideally has experience working with pharma clients, large health claims databases and/or electronic health records, and a great writer/presenter.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability to independently plan and conduct research using advanced epidemiologic or statistical methods. Expertise in at least one statistical programming language.
Motivated to learn new methodologies, statistical programming, and other scientific skillsets as needed. Strong organizational and planning skills in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to take initiative while maintaining open lines of communication with senior colleagues. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
In depth knowledge of observational research methodologies. Strong proficiency in MS Office. Ability to troubleshoot problems and think analytically. Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work. Proficiency in scientific writing. Ability to plan and execute diverse tasks at the same time.
Total Rewards
The salary estimated for this position is $120,000-180,000 per year. Compensation will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills and experience. Actual compensation will be confirmed in writing at the time of offer.
